New certification: Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Expert

A few weeks ago, Microsoft announced a new certification: Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Expert.

What is it about? What are the requirements? What about the other Supply Chain certifications? Find out here!

The new certification aims to align real-world roles and give an expert badge to supply chain consultants who have advanced knowledge of supply chain processes and functionalities. And what's great news is that you don't need to take the MB-300 Core exam to get this certification. The requirements are to take the MB-330: Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant exam and the new MB-335 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Expert exam.

On the other hand, the negative point is that the Dynamics 365: Supply Chain Management: Manufacturing Functional Consultant certification will be removed since the MB-320 exam will be withdrawn at the beginning of 2023. However, suppose we obtain this certification before the retirement date. In that case, we can use it to take the MB-700: Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect exam, too, until early 2023.

Note that the MB-335 exam will not be used to obtain the F&O Apps Solution Architect certification.

How is the story, then?

• MB-320 exam is withdrawn in early 2023

• Functional consultants can earn Associate certification with Exams MB-300 and MB-330.

• Senior Consultants or Principal Functional Consultants can obtain the Expert certification, with the MB-330 and MB-335 exams.

• Functional Consultants Certified as Associate. They can obtain the Solution Architect certification by taking the MB-700 exam.

In my opinion, this begins a stage where the concept of solution architecture and expert consultants will be divided, both from the supply chain and other areas such as finance. This helps the projection and specialization of professionals within the world of consulting.
